We are searching for volunteers to help us with the Opening Doors festival in 2019 – during the period leading up the festival and during the festival itself (March 16-23). Are you enthusiastic about theatre for young people and want to learn more about theatre and how a festival of its kind is created? Then join us by becoming a volunteer for the festival! Below is a list of volunteer roles we’re looking for. There’s a limited number for each role in each of the categories – roles offered on a first come first serve basis.
Festival stewards
Working with the Arad Goch team collecting tickets, helping with delegates from different countries as they arrive, help with the logistics for making the festival easy and manageable. Each steward will receive professional training and mentorship by the company for this role. Ideally free from the 1st of March week for training – details to be discussed.
Assistants for International Artists and Delegates
Work with the festival production team to make sure the delegates are comfortable in our town, take them from show to show, to their hotels, wherever they need to go for the festival. A second language such as Spanish or French or Dutch is ideal but not essential. Volunteers will be required to be trained from the 11th of March – details to be discussed.
Administrative assistants for festival staff
Assist with the production team at the Arad Goch office with the paperwork, help with the side of the tickets, help with the administrative side, write statements, ring up schools etc. These volunteers will need to be available from the 1st of March – details to be discussed.
Assistants for the promotional team.
The team will help the marketing manager promoting the festival by sharing messages on social media, getting around the town and schools with posters, handing out flyers and information about the festival, helping with the fringe events and more. This post will be ideal for someone outgoing. They will be required to start mid-February – more details to follow.
Filmmakers and Photographers.
We are looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic about photography and film to keep a document of the festival and the fringe festivities. With all the various events on throughout the week, you’ll be making sure we keep a document of everything with the marketing manager. Filming and taking photographs of the performances and events for record keeping and archiving the work for marketing purposes as well as curating an short ‘after film’.
Set designers and Artists.
Assist the marketing team and the promotional team in creating artwork around the town and at Canolfan Arad Goch. Perfect for someone studying A Level art or at university – details to discuss.
Guides
During the festival we use a number of different spaces so guides will be needed for various locations. With this you will aid the production team, the stewards in theatres, as well as the fringe events, collect tickets at the door, hand out tickets and have the opportunity to see some of the shows! – Details to be discussed.
